HUNTER PREP COURSE

C2 Tactical Course Curriculum: Hunter Prep
Hunter Prep Course

The Hunter Prep Course is for individuals, couples or groups planning to hunt together. This course can be tailored to your hunt location and species. We encourage ethical shooting ranges and this course goes out to 1000 yards.

Hunting involves more than shooting prone or from a bench. In the Hunter Prep Course, you will train in various shooting positions and find out what works for you and what does not. You will practice shooting with your equipment the way you will use it on your hunt, under field conditions, not the way you have to do it at a traditional range or course.

Hunting also demands quick ranging and fast reliable adjustments for taking game at changing distances. Whether you shoot holdovers or dial ups we will help you become faster and more accurate.

Additionally, we will help you sort out your kit, helping you pack for quiet movement, having what you need accessible when you need it and not carrying unnecessary gear.

Please feel free to contact Skip Clarkin by emailing c2contact@c2tacitcal.com with any questions regarding this course.

Clinic Description – Held on Sunday

Game animals are not static targets. Some shots must be taken with little or no preparation or time to set up the shot. Some shots must be made after hours of waiting in position. The Hunter Prep Clinic provides a full day of long-range shooting that allows students to improve their long-range shooting and spotting, refine the skills of shooting various positions with the gear they will use on their hunt. Distances, angles, weather and wind conditions can change drastically in a matter of seconds.

In the Hunter Prep Clinic, students will work on transitioning quickly between targets at different ranges. Terrain will dictate the position a hunter has to use. Whether shooting in tall grass, over rocks, logs or other obstructions, up-hill or down-hill, even taking a standing shot with your pack on, the students will have a full day to build consistency in the shooting positions that they determine work for them. Students will also work out their individual kit so they can efficiently transition from rifle to binoculars, to range finder, have range cards handy and retrieve additional ammunition all quickly and quietly with minimal movement.

Focus areas within this course include:

• Establish 100 yard or 100 yard “Hunters Offset Zero” for 200 or 300 yard zero

deliver accurate shots

• Develop proficiency with the holdovers or come-ups out to their maximum ethical / practical hunting range

• Develop proficiency in performing as a spotter for another hunter

• Packing a loading for a quiet hike and to have gear where you need it when you need it

• Understand how shooting apps and field data cards work for hunters
